Septic Truck Operator

Buffalo Point, MB

Buffalo Point Development Corporation is seeking an energetic, experienced, and reliable individual for our organization to fill a fulltime position as the Buffalo Point Septic Truck Operator.

Our preferred candidate will be able to manage their time effectively, execute all tasks to the highest quality and have good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate Septic Vacuum truck to clean septic tanks at commercial and residential properties
• Maintenance of sewer lift stations and lagoon
• Diagnose septic related problems and troubleshooting
• Working with other departments within the organization as needed
• Work with the company mechanic on vehicle inspection and maintenance
• Assist the Maintenance Department during down time

Education

• Small Wastewater Operator Certificate would be a definite asset
• Must have septic truck operator experience and a valid, clean driving record
• Lift station experience preferred
• Willing to provide training to the successful candidate

Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required

• Relationship building
• Understanding of septic systems

Full Time Receptionist

Buffalo Point First Nation is seeking a motivated, experienced and reliable individual for our organization to fill a fulltime position as Buffalo Point First Nation’s Receptionist. This position provides a vital link between our community leaders, members, residents and our organization’s staff and services.

The candidate must have a positive attitude, excellent customer service skills and a strong administrative background. You will need to be able to work in a busy work environment and have the ability to multitask. Our preferred candidate will be able to manage their time effectively, execute all administrative tasks to the highest quality and have good communication and interpersonal skills.

 

Responsibilities                                                                                                                              

  • Act as the first point of contact which sets the first impression to clients, patrons and guests. Therefore, mannerism is of the utter most importance.
  • Welcome guests and greet people with friendly and personable hospitality to those who visit the Nation, business, museum and/or staff.
  • Be able to work independently and respond effectively to issues that arise in the absence of management.
  • Answer and screen all incoming calls, take messages and redirect calls within the office.
  • Handle requests and queries professionally, appropriately and efficiently.
  • Receive, record and distribute mail and courier deliveries to appropriate personnel.
  • Book and maintain schedule of meetings and appointments and provide reminders as required.
  • Type/edit various documents and filing system.
  • Provide assistance with support tasks to a variety of administrative managers and fulfill various clerical tasks as required/assigned by various staff.
  • Maintain the established documents and filing system.
  • Provide hard copy material into digitalized documentation via email letters, memos, maps, etc.
  • Receive service payments (septic, maintenance, permits, licenses, etc.).
  • Prepare timber permits, business licenses, and building permits.
  • Oversee and maintain balanced petty cash.
  • Prepare invoices for services provided using QuickBooks.
  • Order front office supplies and keep inventory of stock while maintaining control of excessive spending.
  • Work directly with the finance department to perform duties related to Accounts Receivable and Account payable as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education                                                                                                                                        

  • Grade 12 High School Diploma or equivalent;
  • Successful completion of a recognized post-secondary Administrative program.

 

Skills Required                                                                                                                                

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
  • Previous experience as a receptionist is considered an asset.
  • Must demonstrate attention to detail and organizational skills, and enjoy working in a team environment.
  • Ability to deal with highly sensitive and confidential information as part of receptionist duties. Discretion and confidentially are a must.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook etc.) and QuickBooks.
  • Aptitude for numbers
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise.
  • Must be able to multitask and manage time wisely, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Must have an excellent employment record.

The candidate must have a excellent customer service skills, a willingness to learn, positive attitude and be a team player. You will need to be able to work in a busy work environment and have the ability to multitask.

 

Responsibilities                                                                                                                              

  • Act as the first point of contact which sets the first impression to clients, patrons and guests. Therefore, mannerism is of the utter most importance.

  • Work with other team members and maintain clean common areas and washrooms.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Housekeeping Supervisor

– Cleaning and laundry for 24 on-site cabins
– Clean and maintain campground, resort center and Fawnway Park washrooms
– On-call for cabin related issues
– Ensure any maintenance issues are reported to the Maintenance Shop promptly
– Customer service relating to cabins
– Laundry mat must be kept clean for public use when not in use by housekeeping
– All coin from the laundry mat must be submitted to the government office monthly
– Motel cleaning-on an as needed basis
– Work closely with the Maintenance Dept. and the Reservation Desk
